Delicious Potato fry-Bangala dumpa thalimpu - urulaikilangu fry

 Potato fry is a simple fry recipe made with potatoes. Its health benefits incudes, Potato can be used to relieve High Blood Pressure due to tension, indigestion etc. due to abundance of vitamin-C and B in it, but should be avoided if it is due to diabetes. The fiber present in it is helpful in lowering cholesterol and improves functioning of insulin in the body, which aids to lowering of blood pressure, since there is a direct relation between the blood pressure and the glucose level in the blood and insulin regulates this glucose level. 






Ingredients

Potatoes - 2 [Medium Size].
garlic - 2.
chilli powder - 3/4 tsp.
turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp.

Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp.
oil - to fry. {Not much oil is necessary,use like normally u cook poriyal} [1 tbsp]
salt - for taste.

Preparation
Peel and cut the potatoes very finely as shown in the above picture.
Smash garlic and keep aside.

Method
  • Heat the oil, add Mustard Seeds when it splutters add cumin seeds.
  • Now add Finely chopped Potatoes.Saute well every few seconds with Medium flame until potatoes becomes softer.[if potatoes chopped finely it won't take much time to cook].you can close the lid in between to cook potato faster. 
  • when potatoes are half done add smashed garlic, then add turmeric powder,chilli powder,salt. saute well till every thing combines.
  • when it is almost cooked keep the stove in low  flame and saute frequently till you get crispy texture. Then remove it from flame.
