MARTHA WHITE MUFFIN MIX CHALLENGE & S'MORE DONUT HOLES RECIPE


The Martha White company is holding a Muffin Mix Challenge where anyone can submit a recipe using one of their muffin mixes and be able to win a cash prize, plus a year's worth of muffin mixes! Contest is open until September 12th, so if you have a unique idea- take a chance and enter it!

To help inspire you, one of their baking experts, Linda Carman has created an exclusive recipe just for Utah Deal Diva and Butter with a Side of Bread readers! What a neat idea to use muffin mix for donuts!


S’more Doughnut Holes


Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil, for frying
1 (7.4 oz.) package Martha White® Chocolate Chip Muffin Mix
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup milk
Powdered sugar, optional
Smucker’s® Marshmallow Topping
Graham cracker crumbs

  1. POUR 2 to 3 inches oil in heavy saucepan or in electric fryer according to manufacturer’s directions.  Heat over medium-high heat to 350°F.
  1. STIR together muffin mix, egg and milk in medium bowl, just until dough forms.  Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls into hot oil.  Fry about 2 to 2 1/2 minutes or until golden brown, turning often.  Drain on paper towels. 
  1. SIFT powdered sugar over doughnut holes, if desired.  Serve with marshmallow topping for dipping.  Dip in graham cracker crumbs.
Makes 15 doughnut holes

Caramel Apple Doughnut Holes:  Prepare according to recipe using Martha White® Apple Cinnamon Flavored Muffin Mix.  Dip in Smucker’s® Caramel Flavored Topping.

Chocolate Covered Banana Nut Doughnut Holes:  Prepare according to recipe using Martha White® Banana Nut Flavored Muffin Mix.  Dip in Smucker’s® Chocolate Fudge Topping and chopped walnuts nuts, if desired.
