Ivy gourd, more popularly known as tendli or tindora, is a plant grown widely in the tropical regions. It is a very common vegetable in India and Pakistan. Ingredients
Ivy guord[Thondakaya] - 10 to 12.
green chillies - 2 or 3.
oil -to fry.
cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp.
salt - as required.
tamarind - small piece. [gems size]
Preparation
Chop the ivyguord as shown in the picture into smaller circles.
Method
- Heat the oil, add Cumin seeds when it splutters, add green chillies fry it till it turns golden brown color and keep it aside.
- Heat the oil, add chopped ivyguord saute well, frequently with closed lid , till it becomes golden brown and get wrinkles.
- Grind tamarind,sauted cuminseeds,ivyguord,green chillies and salt together by sprinkling little water.
- Now Thondakaya pachady is ready.
- It serves very well with idli,dosa and rice.
