One of my daughter's favorite games lately has been memory/match games. We have a bunch downloaded on our phones for when we're out and need to entertain her, and have a few memory games we play at home. So, instead of buying more, I decided to make one myself!
After I got everything printed and cut, we have played over 6 times today. Normally she is kind of scared of monsters, so I tried to make them look as "friendly" as possible. After telling her that these monsters are nice and are just for fun, now she can't get enough "monsters".
A few things she said during and after playing the game:
{too funny not to share}
"Can we play just one more time??"
"Mama, this game is amazing! I love those monsters."
"Oh, I love a pink one! Pink is a favorite kind of monster."
"Look mama! A match! We probably better find another one."
She gets so excited every time she gets a match. If your little one {or... you} have too much fun playing this Monster Match game like we do, I highly recommend having the cards laminated to have them last longer!
In case you are new to match/memory games, here are some instructions:
- Lay out the cards, face-down on a table or floor.
- Turn one card over, then turn another card over to try and make a match.
- If no match is made, turn both cards over and take another turn. If multiple children are playing, it is the next person's turn.
- If a match is made, the player gets to go again.
- Repeat until all the matches are found.
