Onion Kara Chutney - Ullipaya Mirigam - Vengaya kara chutney

Ingredients 
Onion -2 [Chopped]                                    
Red chillies - 4
Salt -as required.
Roasted Chana Dal - 25. [3/4 tsp]
Tamarind - Small piece [Small goosebery Size]
jaggery - 1/4 tsp.
oil - to fry.
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp.

 
Method
  • Chopped Onions, Red chillies,salt, Roasted chana dal, Tamarind,jaggery into a fine paste with needed water.
  • Heat the oil, add mustard seeds when it splutters add this ground paste.
  • Saute well for 15 to 20 minutes until the raw smell goes and it gets the form as shown in the above picture.
  • It goes Very well with Dosa and Idli's.you can also refrigerate for a week.
