I have prepared thattai(chekkalu) with wheat flour(godhuma pindi) also called godhuma pindi nippattu.This is can be prepared easily.Even the begginers can try this thattai(chekkalu) snack. This might be a good diwali snack.I hope Every likes this recipe.This thattai won't absorb much oil.so this is a low calorie snack.
Ingredients
Wheat flour - 2 cup.
salt - as required [ 1/2 tsp].
Peanuts and roasted chana dal(chatni dal) powder together - 1/2 cup. [Should be ground coarse].
chilli powder - 11/2 tsp.
water - as required.
preparation
Take peanuts and roasted chana dal and make a coarse powder in a blender or mixie.
Method
In a bowl take wheat flour, peanut and roasted chana dal powder,chilli powder, and salt, combine it to gether to prepare a dough, with needed water. knead well. consistency should be like chapathi dough.
Divide the dough into equal parts and make the balls.Dust it against the wheat flour and make chapati's.
Take a small bowl, and press against against,the rolled dough , as shown in the above picture.
You get the uniform disc, In one rolled dough, you might get, 4 dics. place it over a plate.
This is one method of preparation, or you can dampen your fingers, and flatten the balls against plastic sheet or banyan leaf , to create a uniform discs.
Take the thick kadai, heat the oil, when it is hot deep fry it, until it turns crisp and golden brown as shown in the picture.

place it in a absorbent paper,till oil is absorbed.
Then finally place it in a air tight container.This is a perfect snack for diwali.
