Turn Old Jars into Sisal Twine Wrapped Vases

You might call me a glass jar hoarder. My husband does anyway. Whenever we have a leftover glass jar from something we bought at the store, I like to clean it, remove the label and save it for food storage later. Some kinds of jars (or their lids, rather) aren't as conducive to food storage, though. For example, any highly acidic food item like tomato sauce or pickles probably permanently imprinted the scent of that food item in the lid.

Words to the wise: Do not store almonds in a jar that formerly housed pickles. Ask me how I know.

All that to say, I love this idea from Allyson at Domestic Superhero to turn jars into sisal twine wrapped vases. This is perfect for jars you don't want to use for food OR jars with especially stubborn labels - because you can glue right over the top!
