Homemade Irish Cream Liqueur...step by step.

Irish Cream Liqueur anybody?? Usually to celebrate Easter, I prepare wine in advance; but this Easter, I was bitten by-the-lazy-bug and made this super easy, instant homemade Irish Cream Liqueur.

It was back in the 1990s, a friend of mine shared this awesome ladies drink and since then I have made it  hundreds of time, for Christmas, for family get together, parties....I have used this liqueur in puddings, flavored it in ice-creams, cakes, icings..

Can you believe that to make this super-simple ladies drink,  you just have to pop every thing in a blender and just blend for a min....that's all.

I like to serve it over ice cubes, but some like to have it with crushed ice, personally I love it really chilled without ice cubes :).

The best thing about this super simple, super quick recipe is ....it tastes better than commercial ones and you save money too....isn't that cool.

Author: Nisa Homey.
Ingredients:
Whisky: 1 3/4 cup.
Condensed milk: 1 tin.
Cream: 2 packets (I used low fat amul cream, if you use full fat then that's the best)
Cocoa powder: 1 tsp.
Instant coffee powder: 1 tsp, (you can increase up to two tsp, according to your taste)
Vanilla or almond essence: 1 drop.

Method:
A peek into my old recipe book, where I have hurriedly jotted down the recipe  .....err sorry about the state it is in now.

Gather all the ingredients...this is very important as you cannot afford to run around for the stuffs...so get everything ready.

Into your blender, pour the condensed milk.

Add the cream (both packets)

And the instant coffee powder...though more of coffee flavor is really good.....it depends more or less on  your taste...

Add in the cocoa.

And lastly the best part whisky- if you can get Irish Whisky...then its perfect. Once you pour the whisky, you will notice that the mixture will slightly curdle or tend to curdle....do not panic, just blend for 1 minute... and hum a song :)

Sieve this onto a jar.....then pour into a clean bottle. Voila, your homemade Irish cream liqueur is ready....imagine the money you are saving making this at home....and that makes me sing a song ha.

Refrigerate....this will keep for 2 months if refrigerated (though for me it has never lasted more than a week)....serve over ice cubes or crushed ice....and enjoy the summer.

Enjoy!
