Dondakaya Chutney - Tindora chutney - Kovakkai Chutney- Ivyguord Chutney

 Donkaya Chutney(Tindora chutney) goes very well with Idli,dosa and rice.Health benefits of Tidora includes it is rich in Vitamin C, which helps in strengthening your bones and improving your body structure. It also has plenty of Vitamin B1 and B2, as also trace quantities of Vitamin A. All these vitamins are vital for the human body, and help in strengthening your immune system, and thus keep away diseases.
Ingredients

Tindora/Dondakaya - 12.
tomato - 1.
spring onion - 8.
tamarind - very little (gems size).
red chillies - 3 or 4.
salt - for taste.
cumin - 15 seeds. (less than  1/5 tsp)

Preparation

chop tindora into rounds. it should be thin.heat the oil in kadai, add chopped tindora and saute well till it turns golden brown and you start getting wrinkles in tindora.it should be soft and tender. keep it aside. (Sauting is very important step, if you didn't saute properly it won't taste good.)


Method

Heat the oil, add spring onion, when it turns pink, add chopped  tomato saute well till it is mushy.
Add  red chillies saute till it turns golden brown.Now switch off the stove.

Grind sauted pearl onions,tomato,redchilly,tindora in a blender along with it add tamarind and salt.grind it fine, by adding little water.
