Rava Kesari - (With pictures) - Sheera - Sooji Halwa - festival Recipes

Rava kesari is an Indian festival Recipe. It is prepared during Many festivals at Indian homes.It is also offered as prasadam in a temple. It is a simple and quick dessert. It is also called Semolina Pudding.I have made Rava kesari with milk and water. Now let us learn the procedure.

Ingredients

Rava/Sooji - 1 cup.
Water - 1 + 1/2 cup.
Milk - 1+1/2 cup
sugar - 1 cup.
cashews - 12 to 15.
kesari powder - a generous pinch.
Ghee - 3 tsp + 3 tsp
(3 tsp while roasting cashews and rava remaining 3 tsp to add finally.
oil - 1/4 cup.
Preparation
Add 3 tsp of ghee, roast the cashews till it turns golden brown colour,then remove the cashews.
In the same  Kadai,add rava ,sauté-till you get nice aroma.
Method
Take a thick bottomed kadai, add milk,water and kesari powder, stir well.
 When water and milk starts boiling add Rava and stir well.(if you get lumps don't worry. it can be broken easily by smashing it).When 3/4 of rava gets cooked, add sugar, rava will get loosen.Then add 3 tsp of ghee and 1/4 cup of oil.stir well.
Finally add cashews.Mix it well.Serve hot.
