Whether you are avoiding candy or simply avoiding GMOs, I've got lots of fun trick-or-treat hand out options that don't support the companies using genetically modified corn syrups and sugars. Not sure why GMOs are bad? Check out my primer here.
Organic Candy
Maybe you're not ready to go totally candy-free. These candies are organic - meaning they do not use sweeteners or sugars containing GMOs. Any dentist will tell you, though, that they are still candy - be sure to brush your teeth after you eat it!

Non-Candy Edibles
Kids love getting sweet treats on Halloween. Who cares if they aren't candy? As long as they taste good (and these do!) your little ghouls and goblins will be happy.
Stand out from the crowd and give fun toys or treats for the kids that don't run the risk of giving them a tummy ache. These are also perfect for kids with food allergies!

Annie's Homegrown Organic Vegan Fruit Snacks
These might not technically be candy but they are enough like candy that kids love them. In fact, we may or may not have used these to bribe my son to use the potty early in his learning process. These fruit snacks are vegan as well as certified by the Non-GMO Project.

Granola Bars
Granola bars still pack the same chewy satisfaction of a candy bar but with less sugary sweetness. My son loves Clif Bars and they are an advocate of GMO labeling as well.
