Tamarind Upma/pulusu pindi

It is one of the famous Vysyas recipe.It is very delicious to eat.It is sold in every corner shop's of coimbatore and salem. This upma improves the business of  the shops.

Ingredients
Raw Rice- 1 cup.
Red Chillies - 4.
tamarind - small lemon size ball.
jaggery - 3 tsp.
coconut - 1/4 cup.
salt - for taste.
oil - to fry.(1/2 tbsp)


Tempering.
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp.
channa dal - 1 tsp.


Preparation
Soak Raw Rice and channa dal seperately for 5 hrs or overnight.


Method
  • To  the Soaked Rice add redchillies,tamarind,jaggery,coconut,salt and grind the content to prepare the batter.(Batter should be like sooji. The consistency should be moderate,Not too thinner or thicker).
  • Heat the oil add mustard seeds when it crackle add channa Dal when it turns golden brown add the batter.(flame should be moderate).
  • stir for every few min till the batter is cooked well.(batter should be cooked until upma is not sticky to mouth.)
  • Finally when it is not sticky to mouth, you can serve it.
  • you get very delicious upma.
