Kara kozhukatai


 
Kara kozhukatai is a variant of kozhukatai recipe.It can be served as a evening snack.It is a favourite snack of my family. It will be very    tasty  to eat.                                      
    
Ingredients    

idli Rice - 1 cup.
Red chillies -4
salt - for taste.
onion - 2.
oil -to fry.

Seasoning
Mustard Seeds - 1tsp.
chana Dal - 1 tsp.

Preparation

Wash and soak the idli Rice for 4 to 5 hrs or overnight.

Dough Preparation 
  •  Grind the Soaked idli Rice along with salt. {Batter consistency  should be moderate not fine or course}
  • Heat the oil  add mustard seeds when it crackle add chana dal when it turns brown add onion.
  • Saute the onion till it turns golden brown,then add green chillies saute well,then add the batter.
  • Stir the batter for  every few seconds till 3/4 of the batter is cooked properly.
  • Now the dough gets ready.
Method 
  •  Take the Dough and make oval size balls {if it is  in oval  shape it will be cooked quickly}.
  • Take Idli stand keep the oval balls over it and it  for steam it for 10 to 15 min.
  • Serve hot.  It is a very good snack , we can also have it  as a tiffin.
