Peas Pulav

        Being low in calories, green peas are good for those who are trying to lose weight.Green peas are rich in dietary fiber, making them good for those suffering from constipation.Studies have indicated that green peas might prove beneficial for those suffering from the problem of high cholesterol.The high amount of iron and vitamin C in green peas has been found to help strengthen the immune system.The folic acid and vitamin B6 in green peas are good for promoting the cardiovascular health of an individual.Being rich in antioxidants, like vitamin C, green peas can help keep cancer at bay. Now we prepare a delicious Peas pulav.
                                
Ingredients
Basmati Rice - 1 cup.
green Peas - 1/4 cup.
ginger - 2 tsp.
garlic - 5 (Medium).
Cilantro - 3 tbsp.
mint leaves - 8.
green chillies - 4.
onion - 1  (Medium).
salt - for taste.
oil or ghee - 11/2 tbsp.
cinnamon -1 small piece.

Preparation
  • Wash and soak rice with 2 cups of water for 20 minutes.
  • chop onion and keep it aside.
Method
  • Add ginger,garlic,cilantro,mintleaves,green chillies in a mixie or blender to make a fine paste.
  • Heat the oil add cinnamon, add the ground  paste saute well till raw smell goes.
  • Then add onion saute well  then add green  peas saute well , then add the basmati rice along with water, then add salt.
  • Stir well, then  pressure cook it for 2 whistles.
  • Serve hot with onion Raitha.
