Tamarind poha(atukula Pulihora) is a bachelor recipe.In karnataka it is called Huli Avalakki.You can prepare it easily with no time.Poha is nothing but beaten rice flakes. it is eaten by many households in the Indian sub continent and is a very healthy breakfast. It is rice and therefore mainly starch and provides carbohydrates, which are essential for the body.
Poha - 1+1/2 cup.[thick]
Tamarind - goosebery Size.
chilli powder - 1 tsp.
jaggery - 1 tsp.
Red chillies - 2.
curry leaves - 10.
salt - to taste.
cilantro - 1 tbsp.
coconut - 1/4 cup.
coconut - 1/4 cup.
Seasoning
oil - To fry.
mustard Seeds - 1 tsp.
urad dal- 1/2 tsp
urad dal- 1/2 tsp
Channa dal - 1/2 tsp.
Preparation
- Prepare Tamarind Extract.
- Take the mixing bowl,Wash the poha,add the washed poha then add tamarind Extract,jaggery,chillipowder and salt to it,and mix well with little water for 20 minutes, as shown in the picture.
Method
- Heat the oil add mustard seeds when it crackles, add channa dal,then add urad dal, add curry leaves, then add red chillies .
- when dal's turns golden brown colour add soaked poha that we prepared already.stir it.add grated coconut.
- stir it for 5 to 7 min. serve hot.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro.
