Fruit Chaat.

Fruit chaat....spiced up fruits....a colorful and refreshing fruit snack.

Fruit chaat is good news for those who are on a diet or calorie conscious....weight watchers this is for you.

Fruit chaat can be made with different kinds of fruits like papaya, banana, ripe plantain, guava , apple, orange,  pineapple, pears, mango, strawberries......of course if you have all the fruits its double yum...still if you have 3 or 4 different fruits at hand; you can make the chaat...I mean there is no rule regarding the number of fruits you can use.

Chaat masala, rock salt, roasted cumin powder, mint leaves and coriander leaves.....gives a refreshing and soothing punch to the fruit chaat.

Today afternoon when I was in the mood to have a fruit chaat (for lunch of course) there was just 3 different fruits in the fruit basket; papaya, ripe plantain, and guava  and since there was no mint leaves I used coriander/cilantro leaves and it did taste good..

Ingredients
Ripe papaya: 1/2 of a medium sized one, cubed.
Guava: 3, cubed.
Plantain: 3, cubed.
Lime juice: 1/2 tsp.
Chaat masala: 1/2 tsp.
Rock salt/Kala namak: 1/4 tsp.
Roasted cumin powder: 1/2 tsp.
Mint leaves or coriander leaves.

Method:
Put the cubed fruits in a bowl and mix it with the spice powders, lemon juice, and salt.
Sprinkle with the leaves.
I like to serve chilled.

Note: Fruit chaat is not fruit salad.
