During pongal occasions, at our home, we make paal pongal. This pongal will be very delicious to eat.This goes very well with mochai kulambu.This is the traditional dish of vysyas.This pongal is prepared with rice and milk.Today we will learn how to prepare paal pongal.
Ingredients
Milk - 6 cup.
raw rice - 1 cup.
salt - for taste.
Preparation
wash and Soak the rice for 30 minutes, like you soak the rice normally,then drain it and keep it aside.
Method
- Take a thick bottomed kadai, add 6 cup of milk, when it got boiled, keep the stove in moderate flame, then add drained rice.
- keep on stirring until, the rice is fully cooked and it becomes mushy.[At initial stage, stir it very frequently, when 3/4 of it, is cooked, stir continuously].
- when it is fully cooked, switch of the stove, then add salt.
- [Note:It is important to note that Salt should be added at the last, or else rice won't be well cooked].
- It goes very well with mochai kulambu.
- Also note that 6 cup of milk is enough to cook 1 cup of rice, at times, if rice is not well,cooked you can add some milk according to the consistency.
