The three R's of keeping your packaging life green are "reduce, reuse, recycle." Most people are pretty good at the recycle part. Reduce gets a C+ but as a lot we're pretty bad at reusing. I suspect it's because people like pretty things and a lot of times reused things just aren't pretty.
