Ven Murukku - Thenga paal Murukku - Thenkaya paal Jantikalu-chakli

Thengapaal Murukku( jantikalu) is prepared using Coconut Milk.It helps in controlling weight.Keeps skin and blood vessels elastic and flexible.Aids in building strong bones.It is very rich in Phosphorous.Phosphorous is an essential nutrient that body needs for strengthening bones.Coconut Milk helps in lowering high blood pressure.Now we prepare Delicious Coconut Milk Murukku.

Ven murukku
Ingredients

Raw rice - 2 cup.
Urad dal - 3/4 cup.
Coconut Milk - 1 cup.
salt - to taste.
hing - 1/4 tsp.
oil - to deep fry.
ghee - 1 tsp.

Preparation

Wipe raw rice using dry cloth and keep it aside.
Saute urad dal in a kadai till it is hot.Now Mix Wiped raw rice and urad dal and Grind it into a fine powder.
sieve the ground powder.

Method.

  • To the ground powder add salt,hing,ghee mix well, then add coconut milk little by little to prepare a soft dough.you can also add water additionally  to it, if the milk is not enough to prepare a dough.
  • Take a Murukku maker with three holes plate,put the dough into it. squeeze it in a circular motion over a plastic sheet as shown in the picture.


  • Heat the oil in kadai, when it is hot put small piece of dough when it pops out immediately,it is an indication that oil is hot.
  • put squeezed jantikalu(murukku) into oil,fry it on both the sides,until it is cooked and crisp.
  • later place it in a absorbent paper.Then finally  place it in a air tight container.

Note:
  • You can divide the mixed ingredients into 2 equal portions to prepare the dough , else murukku may turn red colour.if you are using large quantity of dough, divide , mixed ingredients into small portions, to prepare the dough.
