None of you will be surprised to learn that we've been using the same "disposable" soap pump in our bathroom for about 2 years now. Once the first round of soap had finished, we took the label off but the container was really plain. I knew it needed an upgrade but I wasn't sure what to do. When Downtown tape sent me some rolls of washi tape as a thank you for a giveaway, I started to play around with it and I'm really happy with how it turned out.
Supplies
- Soap pump
- Washi tape (tape pictured is from Downtown Tape)
- Mod Podge Satin Finish
- Scissors
- Foam brush
Directions
Step 1: Clean it
Clean the outside of the soap pump to get any grime or soap residue off. If you are really dedicated, you might even wipe it down with a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol.
Step 2: Tape it
Add washi tap stripes going around the outside of the soap pump. Add tape to the top of the pump as well being sure to line up the patterns. Use scissors to trim as needed.
Step 3: Podge it
Use Mod Podge Satin Finish
to seal the tape and make it easy to wipe off later. Allow to dry completely before returning to the bathroom.
