Tomato Gojju is a simple and Easy side dish for idli and Dosa. It is a No onion no Garlic Recipe. Juicy tomatoes - 3.
jaggery - 3/4 spoon.
salt - for taste.
green chillies - 5 [ slit into two] .
cilnatro - few.
cilnatro - few.
Seasoning
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp.
curry leaves - 7.
urad dal - 1/2 tsp.
oil - to fry.
Method
- In a vessel add tomatoes, jaggery,salt,green chillies and pressure cook it for for 5 to 6 whistles without adding any water.
- When it cools down remove the skin of tomatoes.
- Then grind all the ingredients in a blender or mixie.
- Heat the oil add mustard seeds when it crackle add urad dal, curry leaves saute well , when dal turns golden brown, add the ground tomato mixture and (some water oozes from boiled tomatoes u could also add that,) and allow it to boil once.Finally garnish with cilantro.
- Now tomato gojju is ready. It serves well with Idli's and Dosa's.
