Oats - 1 cup.
idli rice - 1/2 cup.
raw rice - 1/2 cup.
chana dal - 1/4 cup.
urad dal - 1/4 cup.
red chillies - 10.
ginger - 1 inch
garlic - 2.
salt - for taste.
cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp.
pepper corns - 40 seeds.
curry leaves - 10.
onion big - 1(optional)
Preparation
Soak the raw rice and idli rice to gether for 4 to 5 hrs or overnight.
chop the onion finely.

Preparation

Method
- Grind soaked raw rice,oats( add as such), chana dal and urad dal(wash and add as such), ginger,garlic,salt,red chillies,curry leaves,cumin,pepper corns and salt into a coarse batter with needed water.consistency should be moderate
- Add chopped onions to it,stir well. (optional).
- Heat the tawa/griddle, take a ladle full of batter and spread it in the centre like circular disc as we prepare normal adai.drizzle some oil over it.toast it until both the sides are cooked.Then remove from tawa and serve hot.
Note:
- Fermentation is not necessary.
- It is not necessary to soak oats or dals.(oats while grinding add as such, similarly just wash and add dals as such)
- Adai gives good taste if you add dals as such rather than soaking.
