It's four days until Christmas. You're supposed to be wrapping presents or baking cookies but you're just too overwhelmed and trolling Pinterest and the blogosphere instead. Don't worry. It happens to the best of us.
Get something done while you're here and learn how to wrap impressive looking presents with dollar store materials! While these presents look fancy, they are very easy to execute. I think shiny accents on kraft paper is the perfect combination of fancy and humble!
Supply List:
- Kraft paper (look in the shipping supplies section)
- Red crepe paper
- Red metalic curling ribbon
- Gold fringe garland
- Gold and silver bell garland
- Red bow ornaments
- Gold "merry christmas" onament
- Gold jingle bells
- Red ball ornaments
- Gold ball ornaments
- Sharpie
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Tape
- Scissors
All of the above supplies were purchased at Dollar Tree and provided enough supplies to wrap about 15 presents with lots left over.
Did you notice that I had a glue gun on the supply list? That's right! All of the accessories on these gifts were adhered with hot glue. It's faster, easier and more secure than tape. I did use tape to wrap the paper around the boxes but I do have a friend who uses hot glue for that part, too!
Supplies used:
- Kraft paper
- Gold garland
- Red and gold sparkly ornaments
- Hot glue
Wrap the box in kraft paper. Wrap the gold garland around the top of the present three time, securing it on the back of the box with hot glue. Secure a cluster of three ornaments in the upper corner on the garland.
Sustainable Wrapping Tip:
Accent gifts with reusable elements like ornaments - it's a nice bonus gift for the recipient, too!
Supplies used:
- Kraft paper
- Red bow ornament
- Hot glue or tape
Wrap the box with kraft paper. Glue or tape the bow ornament right in the middle. This is great for small boxes where you can play with the scale of a small box with the large bow.
Supplies used:
- Kraft paper
- Red crepe paper
- Gold garland
- Hot glue or tape
- Sharpie
Wrap the box in kraft paper. Wrap a strip of crepe paper around the end of the box. Add a piece of garland over the top. Use a sharpie to sketch a blocky initial of the recipient.
Supplies used:
- Kraft paper
- Red curling ribbon
- Gold "merry christmas" ornament
- Hot glue
Wrap the box in the kraft paper. Wrap the top of the package in red curling ribbon, criss crossing some pieces as you go. Glue a Merry Christmas ornament below the ribbon.
Supplies used:
- Kraft paper
- Red curling ribbon
- Jingle bell garland
- Hot glue
Wrap a long box with kraft paper. Wrap the curling ribbon several times around the center to create a band of metallic red. Cut a piece of jingle bell garland and adhere the tails to the sides or back with hot glue.
Supplies used:
- Kraft paper
- Red curling ribbon
- Large gold bells
- Hot glue
Wrap a small box with kraft paper. Wrap a band of curling ribbon around the center of the box. Thread the large bells through a separate piece of ribbon and tie it around the box as well.
