Poha is called as riceflakes or flatted rice which is rich in fibers, iron. Poha is one of healthy foods. You can have during on diet. Rice Flakes also make a likely substituted for oatmeal porridge. Because of it's light nature it's been consumed for ages and recommended for dieters.We can easily prepare a different type of poha upma with it.
Poha - 1+1/2 cup.
Roasted Chana dal - 1/4 cup.
coconut - 5 tbsp.[grated]
curd chillies or red cillies - 4.
Seasoning
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp.
chana dal - 1 tsp
urad dal - 1/2 tsp.
urad dal - 1/2 tsp.
curry leaves - 10.
salt - for taste.
oil - for fry.
cilantro for garnishing - 2 tbsp [chopped].
cilantro for garnishing - 2 tbsp [chopped].
Preparation
- wash and immerse the poha with little water,till it becomes soft.it takes some 15 to 20 min.(water and poha level should be same).
- Add the roasted chana dal in a blender to make a powder and keep it aside.
Method
- Heat the oil,add mustard seeds when it crackle add curd chillies, when it lightly turns golden brown,add chana dal,add urad dal, curry leaves, peanuts.
- When dal's turns golden brown, add grated coconut, saute, it for few seconds.
- Now add the poha.Finally add roasted chana dal powder and salt.Then mix it well.garnish with cilantro.
- Now upma is ready,then serve hot.
- you can have pickle or Mango salad as a side dish.
