We all would have ate semiya. This chintapandu semiya(tamarind semiya) is a different type of semiya which gives you a unique taste.This recipe is very easy to prepare.When we feel so tired,you can prepare this recipe,it won't take much time.office goers and bachelors can choose this recipe, to prepare in the morning.
Ingredients
Vermicilli - 1 cup.
Water - 3 cup [including tamarind extract].
jaggery - 1/2 tsp.
salt - for taste.
chilli powder - 1/2tsp.
curry leaves - 10.
tamarind - goose bery size.
green chillies - 2. [slitted].
turmeric - 1/4 tsp.
For seasoning
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp.
chana dal - 1 tsp.
urad dal - 1 tsp
Preparation
- Soak the tamarind in water to prepare tamarind extract.
- roast the vermicilli,if it is not roasted.
- Heat the oil, add mustard seeds when it splutters add chana dal,urad dal,curry leaves,green chillies.
- When dal's turns golden brown add tamarind extract with 3 cups of water.
- Add jaggery,salt,chilli powder,turmeric to water.
- When it starts boiling add roasted semiya, stir it, until it is cooked well, and all the water is absorbed.Now puli semiya is ready.
