Potato korma(Aloo kurma) is a good accompaniment for Poori,chapati,idli,Appam and Dosa.Potatoes are a great source of carbohydrates, protein, calcium, niacin and Vitamins C and B-complex. Ingredients
Potato - 3.
mustard seeds - 1 tsp.
chana dal - 1 tsp.
urad dal - 1 tsp.
onion -2.
tomato -2.
cilantro - few.
To Grind
Red chillies - 5.
cumin - 1/2 tsp.
coriander seeds - 1 + 1/2 tsp.
coconut - 3 tbsp.
roasted chana dal - fistful.
garlic - 2.
salt - for taste.
Grind the ingredients with little water.
Preparation
- Cook the potatoes for 3 whistles, and smash it into tiny pieces.
- Heat the oil, add mustard seeds, when it splutters throw urad dal,chana dal.
- When dal turns golden brown colour add chopped onions, when it turns golden brown colour add tomatoes saute well, till it turns mushy.
- Add Ground paste, and water according to the consistency.(i hav added 2 cups of water).

- When the water starts boiling add smashed potatoes, let it cook in a medium flame for 10 - 15 min, till the raw smell goes and everything combines, and it gets a thick gravy consistency.
